Mobile Phone Users in UK on Rise

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Judith_Earl]Judith Earl There are large number of network providers in UK. One of the most widely used network is Virgin Mobile serving to a large chunk of mobile phone users in UK. According to Virgin Mobile, their user number is increasing year after year. Compared to the earlier year, its number of customers has increased from 3.88 million to 4.35 million and it has gained 193,000 active users.Being the UK’s fifth-largest mobile operator and having more than five million customers, in the previous quarter, the average revenues rose to 123, from 121. The company operates on networks owned by airtime provider T-Mobile. Despite the deal being backed by major shareholder Sir Richard, Virgin Mobile’s board rejected an 817m ($1.4bn) bid from cable operator NTL in December. The reason being the offer underrated the business. To the existing offering of TV, fixed line phones and broadband, NTL hopes to add Virgin’s mobile phone facilities. It is hoped that a possible takeover may take place. According to Virgin, talks about it are continuing. After some discussions, the chief executive of Virgin Mobile said that they are going to make further announcements about a potential offer after their meeting with NTL. Their approach to focusing on high quality customers in the prepay segment has given a boost to their growth. Promotion Strategies: How Small Flash Drives Offer Big Marketing Opportunities

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

By Jim McKinley USB flash drives also often referred to as thumb drives or jump drives act as reusable portable hard drives. These small units about the size of a pack of gum can easily be carried in a pocket, worn around the neck like a necklace or used as a key chain by your clients and prospects. There are even USB flash pens with the flash drive hidden inside the writing utensil. USB flash drives plug directly into your Universal Serial Bus (USB) port of a computer and are typically built to hold between 64 megabytes and 2 gigabytes of data. The popularity of flash drives have grown significantly over the past several years as storage capacities have increased and USB-enabled computers have become ubiquitous. The popularity and capabilities of flash drives has led to the advent of flash drive marketing. The use of USB flash drives as effective marketing tools is continuing to evolve for forward thinking marketing professionals. Custom Flash Drive Marketing Delivers Branded Product To Customers Thumb drives can be stamped with a companys logo and as a result, custom logo USB drives have become trade show and convention favorites. Companies are giving branded custom logo flash drives to key customers and prospects providing them with an instant reminder of your company every time they use the flash drive to transfer files or back up a document. Providing your customers (and potential customers) with a branded custom logo USB flash delivers a great way to market by keeping your brand in front of customers while giving them something of real value they will use over and over. Flash Drive Marketing Delivers Branded Product With Targeted Messages Using flash drives as branded giveaways and corporate gifts are just the tip of the marketing iceberg. Savvy marketers are increasingly using the storage capabilities of these compact devices to deliver their message. Flash drives can now be pre-loaded with data, music, video or other content. The devices can also be setup to auto-run a marketing message or load a specific website when inserted into a computer. Customers are able to continue to use the flash drive, storing their data alongside the pre-loaded content. A custom logo USB flash drive that also holds a pre-loaded message or presentation offers companies the benefit of delivering a branded product AND targeted message at the same time. The concept of delivering your marketing messages via thumb drive was started several years ago when automobile manufacturers provided flash drives pre-loaded with presentations touting the features of their latest models. The idea has caught on and not just for big companies. Looking for creative and cutting edge ways to stand out from the competition, large, medium, and small sized firms, companies and organizations across a wide range of industries are now looking to flash drive marketing to communicate their messages. Ways That Organizations Can Utilize Flash Drive Marketing: Schools can provide handbooks and required course materials to incoming students via thumb drives featuring school colors and mascot. Students can continue to use the thumb drive for data storage and transfer throughout the school year Design and creative agencies can provide multi-media portfolios with links to additional web-based content Bands can promote and deliver new music via flash drive. In addition, bands can use USB mp3 players to allow users to listen to music directly from the device As the popularity and capabilities of USB flash drives continue to grow, marketing professionals will continue to find unique and innovative ways to utilize flash drive marketing. The marketing possibilities may only be limited by the imagination. Jim McKinley, Marketing Director of www.CFGear.com — the leading retailer of USB flash drives — helps companies increase their awareness by over 100% with customized flash drive marketing programs. By providing customers and prospects with a branded product and a targeted message, you can cut your advertising and direct marketing expenses in half. Satisfy Your Thirst for Fishing - 3 Parts to the Fishing Cocktail

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

By Michael Kilby Everyone who fishes either for sport or fun knows that while fishing itself is simple, catching fish is not. There are times when we think we have it all figured out, then days go by without as much as a nibble. What has happened, did we lose our expertise? Are the fish getting smarter? Maybe its the weather. In fact there are many factors that weigh into whether we are catching fish or just passing time. Even though there are many factors, I would argue there are only 3 main parts to pouring ourselves the perfect fishing cocktail. Since drink names such as Sex on the Beach and Fuzzy Navel have already been taken, may I suggest Fish on a Hook? The drink may be made with any combination of the ingredients. They do not have to be of equal parts, but to make a Fish on a Hook all 3 must be present. So put your barkeepers hat on and lets start. The first part of our drink consists of bait selection. Now I can hear you out there, I can think of at least 10 factors which go into catching a fish. This is true, but many are just sub-factors of choosing the main ingredients. For part 1 of our drink, we must ask questions like; Who is our customer? and What do they like? If our cocktail is being served in a high class restaurant or club, we need to use top-shelf liquor only. This will of course cost more, but thats what these customers want. On the other hand, if were drinking at the local pub and money is of concern, cheaper brands of the same liquor may do the trick. Some will like their drinks made strong, others will want a better tasting, yet lower in alcohol version. Now, what does any of this have to do with the price of tea in china? KNOW YOUR FISH. Does it like jumping for top-water lures, or picking at slow moving soft baits across the bottom? Whats its main source of attraction? Some fish are attracted by sight to bright flashy objects, while others tend to follow their nose. Not only knowing what the fish like, but knowing when they like it, as well as adjusting for water temperature and weather conditions are also important factors to consider. A little research goes a long way in picking the right bait. This is a great start but were not quite ready to start drinking yet. Part two of the Fish on a Hook recipe is technique. There are many techniques available in creating the perfect drink; Shaken not stirred is just one. Drinks can also be made hot, cold, or frozen. Fishermen also use varying techniques in their efforts. Whether quick popping a top water lure, fly fishing, or slow reeling through the vegetation, many of the same sub-factors which go into bait selection are also relevant here. We must consider the aggressiveness of the fish, whether they are active or lethargic. Their location,in open water or along the bank,is important in choosing the appropriate technique. What bait am I using? is of course another important element. Getting thirsty? Some will say you dont need this final part to make a Fish on a Hook, that if you poured the first two parts just right, number 3 is unnecessary. I beg to differ. The third and equally important ingredient is luck. There I said it. Good or bad, weekend warrior or professional angler, everyone needs a little. Ever been fishing with a buddy using the same bait and same technique, yet you are catching fish and they’re not, or vise-versa? Whats the difference? Is it that theres more fish on his side of the boat or a few feet down the bank? Perhaps, but I say it is luck. It’s either good for you or bad for him, but it’s luck just the same. Some need half a glass, some just a splash to take the edge off, but like I said, everyone needs a little. There you have it. Mix bait selection with technique, add some luck ,and there you have a perfect Fish on a Hook. Tasty isnt it? “Wait a minute,” you say, “it cant be that easy.” What about fishing gear? What about my fish finder and GPS? What about my rod selection and reel choice? Valid questions all. I just make the drinks; you have to decide how to serve them. Will that be in a tall or short glass? “Straight up or on the rocks?” With salt or without? you get the point. Personally, Ill take mine any way you make it. M. Get a Cheap Credit Card By Understanding The Fees

Monday, November 12th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder Credit card companies charge fees of some sort or another. The key is to find a card with the lowest fees for the services you use. For instance, if you use cash advances, then investigate those fees with credit card companies before you sign up with them. Upfront Fees Not every credit card program has upfront fees, so it pays to shop around for the right card. For instance, annual fees are common on cards with fixed or low rates. In the right circumstance, this fee with the right rate can save you money. You will also find cash advance fees, either a flat rate or percentage. Not all cards charge this, but usually they have higher APRs. It is important to read the terms if you plan on using this feature. Balance-transfer fees also can be charged, usually when you use a check sent by the credit card company. Some programs offer no fees or low rates for transfers, especially with an introductory offer. Extra Fees Extra fees can often be avoid but should still be researched. Late payment, over-the-credit-limit, or credit increase can all result in extra dollars. Less common are set-up, return item, or telephone ordering fees. Unless a card is offering an exceptional rate, these types of programs should be avoided. Low Fees Equal High Rates - Sometimes While no one wants to pay fees, sometimes they can save you money. With large balances or balance transfers, you can often find lower rates by paying a small fee. You may also find that with incentive programs, a monthly fee will still allow you to come out ahead. However, for those that pay off their balances every month, choose a card with no or low fees. You can also choose to have a couple of different types of credit card programs to meet your different financing needs. Research Fees Under federal law, credit card companies are required to list fees and APRs before you apply. Often the information will be present in a table. It will include annual, minimum finance, cash advance transaction, transfer, late payment, and over-the-credit-limit fees. With this information, you can decide what card is best for you. The Value of Antique Photos

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

By Morgan Hamilton Do you have antique photos of your family and forebearers that you would like to take real good care of? Antique photos depicting certain events or people have great value to collectors, but can’t even hold a candle to the sentimental value that families place on photos of their loved ones. Caring for antique photos is important because if they are not properly cared for, they will not only lose any value that they may have, they can literally disintegrate right before our eyes. Never expose antique photos to direct sunlight, or any other photos for that matter. Light, especially direct sunlight, is harmful to antique photos. The rays of sun will make the colors of the photo fade right off the film, so much so that you will not even be able to make out the picture after a while. Artificial and ambient lighting is nowhere near as damaging as the sun’s rays are. You should also take care when you’re handling them so as to not bend the photos. When an antique photo is bent, the result will be a permanent mark that is left on the photo. Since many antique photos are on a card board type material, if the photo gets bent it breaks up the picture and you’ll actually end up seeing the cardboard as opposed to the photo. Among collectors, certainly not all antique photos have high value. There are certain events that pictures are taken of that are worth more than others. For example, an antique photo of a wedding party is worth more than just a random picture. And of course pictures of famous people such as Abraham Lincoln have tremendous value. But even wedding party pictures have differing values, the more people in the picture the higher the value of the photo. I suppose it’s a matter of quantity and quality when it comes to valuing antique photos. Also, if the people in the picture seem a little more high class (the clothing is expensive within the time period of the photo), then the photo is worth a little more than if it were of a lower class family. Hardly seems fair does it? But I believe it’s all a matter of detail as opposed to discrimination. Sometimes antique photos with only one person are valuable. Photos of kids are usually valuable because they are so interesting. Antique photos of historical figures and the infamous are often valuable, too, especially if the photo is signed by the subject. Many people like to label their photos. It’s not really a good idea to be sticking things to the surface of your antique photos. Nor is it a good idea to be writing on them. If you use a pen to label the photos, it is possible that the ink might react somehow with the ink in the photo. If you must label antique photos, it is better to use a pencil of some sort. It is better for the picture because the graphite will not react. Another benefit of pencil is that if you decide you do not want it labeled, then it is easier to erase than pen. Perhaps something along the lines of a Post-it note that is not adhered directly to the photos surface might be the best bet. Morgan Hamilton offers his findings and insights regarding lifestyle. How to Conduct an Information Interview

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

By Ryan Stewart An informational interview is simply a means of gathering information you need in order for you to choose which career path is right for you. It is not the same as a job interview because the job hunter is the one who conducts the informational interview. An informational interview is a great idea to undertake if you are just starting out and are not really sure what job suits you. Another reason to conduct an informational interview is when you are thinking of changing your career path and as such do not know much yet about the industry you want to break into. It is also a means to expand your network and talk to all kinds of people in a specific business area. By conducting an informational interview, you are in effect preparing yourself (1) for a better job, (2) for better chances in a new field, or (3) simply improving your current market worth by networking and learning new things. Following are some simple steps on how to conduct a successful informational interview. * Ask yourself what particular job or industry you are interested in. On a separate list, identify your abilities, skills, values, and expertise and see if you think you are suited for the job you have in mind. * Prepare for the informational interview and list all the details you want to obtain about your preferred industry. * List the people you already know that are in the field you are interested in friends, family, relatives, former professors, and others. Afterwards, work your way up to public relations officers, organizational directors, and others. * Arrange the interview by phone, email, letter, or though someone you know who works in the same office as the one you want to interview. * Prior the informational interviews, take the time to read up on the job or industry you are keen on so that you do not go into the interview with absolutely no knowledge of the topic. Make a list of questions you would like to ask. * D-day is finally here. Conduct the interview with ease and grace. Dress nicely; be punctual, polite, and professional. Follow the questions you have made but also allow some spontaneous discussion between you and the person youre interviewing. * After the interview, record everything you have learned in a journal or blog. Dont forget to send a thank you note within one week of the interview. Informational Interview Dos and Donts Consider these tips when youre planning to conduct an informational interview. * DO ask for a face-to-face informational interview instead of phone interviews or email interviews because this is by far the best kind and most helpful. * DO ask your interviewee to allot at least 30 minutes of his or her time for the interview. * DO take the time to conduct some research about the company if you are absolutely clueless about the job or field you are interested in even small bits of information will help. * DO prepare to bring your resume just in case the interviewee asks you for a copy. * DO be yourself because this is the only way to know which career path is right for you. Remember, you dont need to impress the interviewee here. Youre there to ask for good career advice. * DONT get the false impression that an informational interview is a job interview. Youre merely preparing to enter or change a career path, or improve your prospects in your current field. * DONT forget to ask for referrals. * DONT ask for a job! It will turn off the person you are interviewing and will feel that you have deliberately misled him/her as to the real purpose of the interview. Tactics For Lakes

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

By Jonathan Bowler Do you find a large expanse of water slightly intimidating, as far as fly fishing is concerned? Do you arrive at a lake and look out at all that water and think “where do I start?” What follows is two different examples of fishing a lake successfully, and hopefully they might give you some ideas on how to catch fish around the edge of lakes. We arrived at Lake Brunner on the West Coast of New Zealand around 2pm. It was a hot day, with a reasonably strong wind coming off the lake — hardly ideal fishing conditions. But after a 5 hour drive, I was determined to go fishing, no matter how bleak the prospects! We set off around the lake edge, and after a 20 minute walk we stopped to set up the rods. I would say that 90% of people fish within 15 minutes walk of an access area, and if you go just that little bit further your chances of success increase. I put on a #10 Black Gnat, always a favourite pattern for lake edges, and began to scan the water. It only took several minutes to spot a fish slowly making his way upwind, about 15 feet out from the edge. Circling around ahead of him, I put the fly out on the water, and crouched down to wait. 30 seconds later the fly disappeared leaving a swirl on the surface. I tightened up to a nice 3lb Brown which put up a good fight before being landed, photographed and released. I got another 3 that afternoon, all spotted within 20 feet of the bank, and ambushed with a fly placed ahead of it. So why were fish caught on an afternoon that my fishing buddy felt would have been better spent relaxing in the pub? *Prepared to walk just that little bit further, to get away from the over fished areas. *Realising that fish would be in close with the cover of waves and wind. *Spending the time looking for fish, rather than blindly casting. *Using a fly suited to the windy rough conditions. The next example was a trip to the head of Lake Tekapo, in the McKenzie country, South Canterbury. Possibly the worst conditions I have ever tried to cast a fly in — it was difficult to even stand up in the wind, let alone cast and the waves on the shore were well over a metre high. The North–West wind was howling down the lake, it was cold, with rain squalls, and lightning in the hills. Definitely a day to be indoors, but stupidity knows no bounds at times. Besides, we were there, we may as well give it a go! But how to cast with a gale force wind? Not a chance — so different tactics were called for. To get to the lake, we had walked down beside a small stream. This flowed out into the lake, and having fished there once before we knew there was a drop-off hidden in the waves - perhaps there were fish over the edge of that? So I stood on the upwind side of the stream, and cast a line directly downwind over the current of the stream. A wet line, or sink tip would have been a better choice, but a dryline was all I had with me, so it was going to have to do.My choice of fly was an olive Wooly Bugger #8, which I find to be a good general purpose fly when fishing blind in deeper water. As the current took my fly out into the lake, I would pay out more line, until there was 20 metres or so out. Then slowly strip the line back in and repeat the process. Bingo! A hookup. It was impossible to keep in touch with the fly, so hooking a fish was a hit and miss affair, but there were plenty of Rainbows sitting over that drop-off. We caught 5 Rainbows that afternoon. Nothing above 3 pounds but in those conditions, every fish was a bonus! Which all goes to show one thing, sheer stupidity can sometimes reap its own rewards. Dear God, I’m Mad As Hell

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

By Rob Marshall In Bible studies that I’ve taught, I’ve often had people talk with me afterwards and mention that they’re struggling because they’re not getting answers to their prayers. They want to have faith, they don’t think that they’re doing anything wrong, but nothing seems to be happening, nothing is changing. It reminds me of a theme that comes up throughout the Psalms. It’s a theme that we don’t like to talk about because it seems like the Psalmists are saying, “God! We cry out to You, but You don’t answer!” Whether we like it or not, there are times when it seems like God is a long way away. We feel like the Psalmist who wrote: “But now you have rejected and humbled us; you no longer go out with our armies. You made us retreat before the enemy, and our adversaries have plundered us. You gave us up to be devoured like sheep and have scattered us among the nations. You sold your people for a pittance, gaining nothing from their sale.” (Psalm 44:9-12 NIV) There have been times when I’ve felt like dying. Has that ever happened to you? When you feel like there’s no hope, God has forsaken you, so you might as well just give up? Most of us just put on a brave face and try not to admit it, but the truth is, we’re frustrated and angry. We’re mad at God and we don’t know what to do. Part of the frustration that we deal with is because we begin to believe that it’s something we’ve done wrong. There’s a problem with “me” but I don’t know what it is. God must be angry with me for some unknown reason, and if I could just figure it out and say I’m sorry, it will all be better. When we face times like this we have to remember that others have gone through similar times. There’s nothing strange about it and there’s nothing wrong with us. We should be open and listen to see if there is some unconfessed sin that we need to deal with, but not allow ourselves to be overwhelmed with guilt. And we shouldn’t try to earn God’s favor by believing that we need to be punished. As my pastor once commented to me when I was thinking along those lines, “What! Was Christ’s death on the cross not good enough for you?” I realized that I wrongly thought I had to pay the price, and I forgot that He already had. We also need to follow David’s example. In Psalm 43:5 he says, “Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” It’s OK to let God know that we’re angry and that we don’t understand what’s happening in our lives. It’s OK to tell Him how we feel. And then we need to remember that even if we feel forsaken, God is still there. He still loves us. When we tell God how we feel, we also need to remind ourselves of who He is and make a decision to continue to praise Him. The sacrifice of praise often comes when we decide to stop all the negative voices in our heads and praise God in spite of our circumstances. One of my favorite prayers is in 2 Chronicles 20:12. The prayer is in the middle of the story about the armies that were coming to attack Jehoshaphat. At the end of Jehoshaphat’s prayer he says, “For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.” We need to let God know how we’re feeling, but still keep our eyes on Him. He will answer our prayers and help us through any circumstances we’re facing. His answer may not come in the way we want, but it will come. Until next time, Rob Rob Marshall is the author of “Taking On Goliath - Howto Unleash the David in All of Us.” Learn how you canunleash your faith and overcome any “Goliath” that maystand between you and your dreams. http://www.TakingOnGoliath.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rob_Marshall http://EzineArticles.com/?Dear-God,-Im-Mad-As-Hell&id=269492 list for cheap prescription xanax xanax online cod buy xanax without prescription in usa xanax valium soma lortab no prescription required

Finding a Russian Bride Safely

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

By Cenk Butunley Since the early years of 19th century, ordering brides via mail had never lost its popularity amongst the men for finding a special bride. Some men found the love they have been looking for and some women found the financial security, family and new horizons in foreign countries. With the increasing popularity, business got bigger and bigger, dozens of new agencies formed and millions of singles tried building families and in fact 54% of them succeeded. What changed was with the birth of the Internet, some people whom we now call scammers used the advantages of online dating services and thousands of innocent men got suckered millions of dollars for finding the love or a possible wife from foreign countries. These scammers posted some fake pictures on dating sites, emailed innocent men using special patterns of content in their messages and mostly succeeded in their evil plans. So must you be afraid of looking for a russian bride on the net? Definitely not. According to researches, 89% percent of russian women looking for a spouse on the internet have honest intentions and only 50% percent of these women find the love from distant lands. And again according to the researches 76% of scammers are men who even do not live in the country they claim to. So what can you do to avoid being scammed? How can you know if your potential bride is a scam or not? So here are some tips to differentiate a scammer from an honest woman: You have a profile on a dating site. Maybe youre not so popular or even you dont have a picture on this site. And out of nowhere you started getting letters from a russian beauty. Thats is a red flag and you must be very cautious. The picture(s) is another point. Some russian girls do not have the financial means to buy a digital camera or even to get their pictures taken from a professional. So if the picture(s) youre seeing is too good to be true or the image names contain long numbers, this is another flag. A scammer never reads your emails properly. All they do is to tell about themselves and pretending to fall in love after 3-4 letters. If she/he talks about her financial problems in the first or second letter, this is a big red flag and its better if you can reconsider wasting your time or money with her/him. Never send any money for VISA or airplane tickets, sick family members or phone bills. If she really loves for whom youre, she will not ask for this before she meets you anyway. So these are some important points you must never forget or ignore. It was proven that the best way to meet a woman from abroad is visiting her on her city. If shes a scammer, she will try everything to avoid this, anyway. While involving in communications with her, ask straight questions and look if youre getting sincere & honest answers or are you being ignored? After knowing each other and the first dating stage, do not hesitate to start talking on the phone. Listen to her voice and try to discover if she is a woman in love or she is after your money. If you keep these tips in your mind and take the necessary cautions. You may find your dream love from Russia or other countries. Dont forget that there are thousands of honest russian women looking for an honest man like you. If you are sincere and honest to them, they will return you the favour. Paxil May Increase Risk of Birth Defects

Monday, November 5th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Mark_R] Mark R In a report by Health Day News, Americas obstetrician group is recommending that women who are pregnant or are trying to become pregnant do not use the anti-depressant drug Paxil. The drug has recently been discovered to increase the risk of birth defects; other anti-depressant medication should be dealt with on a case to case basis. The report was based on 2 separate studies. The first study found a 2% increase in the risk of heart defects of children born from mothers that were taking Paxil. The second study found that mothers who took Paxil increased the risk of birth defects by 1.5% over regular anti-depressant medication. Most defects were found to be heart related. Other reports conclude that Paxil as well as several other drugs may cause withdraw symptoms in new borns. The article states, ACOG acknowledged that these potential problems must be weighed against yet another study which found that pregnant women who discontinue their antidepressant medication are five times more likely to relapse into depression than women who continue with the medication. Although taking anti-depressant medication increases the risk of birth defects, not taking the medication also causes problems that could be possibly be even more detrimental to an unborn baby. Women who discontinue use of the medication are 5 times more likely to fall back into depression compared to women who take the medication.
