How To Live A Good Relationship

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

By Victor C. If you are in a relationship with somebody, you should know that if you have a relationship of trust, confidence and respect, you are destined to have and good and healthy relationship. But what do you call an unhealthy relationship? This is when you feel fear, self-doubt, anger, etcetera. When couples have this kind of problem, they try everything in order to make their relationship work, However, This is a problem of two and you cant start blaming each other, you have to look for a solution together. If you have been friends with your partner for one or two years, or have just met somewhere even on the internet, you need to know that at some point all that love will pass. Maybe you need to wait until you are married to know each other as it should be, and after that happens, and some love leaves, this is where the real test begins, the testing to know if you can keep taking care of each other for more years or you want to call it quits. This is not easy. Having read a lot of cases and having talked to many friends, one thing I can tell you is that the techniques to try to save a relationship are numerous; And Its always different from one couple to another. Believe me when I tell you that sometimes they only tip that people use is: communication. They say that if you have a good communication with your partner, the relationship can be saved. However, some couples go to specialists for long time only to find out that they are not made for each other. If they are intelligent people and open minded, they can just leave at that point without problem. Some friends say that if you want to love somebody you have to love yourself first. Personally I think that it doesnt matter if you dont love yourself too much, you CAN love somebody with all your heart. One of the best advises that I have heard in my life is that if youre trying to maintain a relationship healthy, you have to be honest as much as possible. This might seem obvious and sometimes absurd, but you wont believe how many problems dishonesty can carry. I can tell you that since I was fifteen years old I started to hear that its better if you tell the truth now even if it can hurt the other person than not saying anything and being lying all the time just because you dont want to hurt her/him. So be honest and you see even if you suffer for a little while, later on youll be compensated with someone special. ====================================================== Victor C. is an Engineer in Computer Systems who loves to read and write about any subject, as long as it’s interesting and useful for the reader. Monday, November 26th, 2007

By Tresaca Hamilton The year is almost over and the last half of this year will fly by just as fast as the first half. Are you on target for meeting your business goals for this year? If you answered yes, congratulations!Keep reading for ideas that will help you stay on track. If you answered no, don’t panic.Keep reading to find out how to get back on track soyou can meet or exceed your business goals for this year. This is part 1 of a 2 part article series that will show youhow to avoid another year of not reaching your business goals. DURING JULY: Spend the month of July creating a marketing plan for the rest of this year. How can your business make a greater impact in the marketplace before this year is over? What marketing strategies worked for you and which ones bombed so far this year?Focus on the strategies that are working for you, and work to make them even better to ensure greater results and more clients before the end of this year. Think about holding a contest or special event before this year is over. You can create something unique or you can tie your event into a major holiday. Put the event on your marketing calendar and give yourselfat least three months to plan and promote it. Set a goal to issue at least three Press Releases before this year is out.Think about upcoming programs and services that you are launching and find a way to create a newsworthy Press Release about it.Mark the dates for issuing your Press Releases on your marketing calendar. Set a goal to do at least two marketing campaigns before this year is out.If you are not on target for meeting your revenue goals for this year, you will need to do more than two campaigns.Maximize the effectiveness of each campaign by doing an online versionas well as a direct mail version. DURING AUGUST: In August, focus on generating more revenue for your business.Since ‘Back to School’ is a major theme during this month,’educate’ your clients and prospects. You can do this through value packed seminars, teleclasses, infoproducts, and conferences. In addition to providing value, your goal is to show your prospectshow you can help them solve their problems. You can offer a Fall sale for a service or product that is new or old, but make sure your prospects are aware of the increased value of the offer due to the decreased price. Make the offer compelling enough so they will buybefore the sale ends. If you don’t have an infoproduct, spend the month of August creating your first one and draft a plan for future infoproducts. DURING SEPTEMBER: In September, leave obscurity behind.Gain more recognition for your business throughpublic speaking, networking, and publishing. Volunteer to speak at seminars held by business associations or your local chamber. Start with business associations that you are a member of, and look for other opportunities for speaking by offering to speak in front of local groups that are comprised of your target market. Step up your networking activities to gain more visibility for your business. If you are currently only doing yournetworking offline, add online networking to the mix. Approach every networking opportunity with the intentto connect with at least three people.Focus on learning more about their business and their challenges. Exchange business cards after you have made a connection and follow up immediately.Stay in touch with your networking contacts on a regular basis. If you are not already publishing a newsletter, spend the month of September creating your first one.If you don’t want to commit to publishing a newsletter on a regular basis, then publish articles that focus on your areas of expertise. TAKE ACTION NOW! Spend some time implementing these ideas for your business during the next three months, and you will be on track formeeting your business goals for this year. Affordable Bail Bonds

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Damian Sofsian Bail is a fee paid by someone accused of a crime in order to be released from jail while awaiting court dates or trials. Obtaining bail is not always an easy task; there are lots of formalities to the process. So it is worthwhile to approach bail bond agents or bail bond companies when securing bail. There are companies that take charge of these situations and help the clients. These companies provide affordable bail bonds to their clients. The bail bond agents have experience with posting bail, and get the process done in an affordable and simple manner. These companies take charge of the whole matter and the family members of the convicted people under crime charges do not have to try and figure out the complexities of posting bail on their own. The bondsmen simply ask for detailed information about the crime and try to get bail through proper means and sources, so the person may be released from jail while awaiting court dates and trials. Nowadays, Internet case tracking Web sites are provided to keep the clients updated on court cases, warrants, and ever changing laws. The companies get themselves involved into personal commitments to help their clients through the entire process. The importance of these services is that the clients can track the latest status and get answers about the services provided at any point in time. As the bail bond business is very demanding, these companies compete among themselves to provide better services to their clients. Some of these companies offer alcohol and drug screening services also. The tests are conducted either in their offices or any locations convenient to the clients and the results are given on the same day. This facility helps people as it is provided on a 24/7 basis. It is a good idea to call ahead and ask if these services are offered before going into an office, though. Bail Bonds provides detailed information on Bail Bond Agents, Bail Bond Companies , Bail Bond License, Bail Bond Schools and more. Bail Bonds is affiliated with Law Enforcement Training. Online Mentorship Programs: Cash in on Your Expertise

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Marcia Yudkin Whether you’re a former retail store owner known for yourcreativity, a championship bridge player, or apsychotherapist with a long current waiting list foropenings, if you possess expertise that makes colleaguesand aficionados want your pearls of wisdom, you can createa new income stream with an online mentorship program. Such a program charges a fee for people to sit at your feetand learn from you. The program would have a special focus(not for everyone) and offer information, resources, advice, insider tips and problem solving. While amentorship program could take place in the “real world,” itis especially easy to set it up, promote and run it online. Before I created my online mentorship program,MarketingforMore.com, in the fall of 2003, I did extensiveresearch on fees and features of other programs. I lookedmost closely at seven examples whose fees ranged from $30 amonth to just less than $600 a month. At the lower end of this spectrum, $30 a month didn’t givemembers very much personal access to the expert around whomthe program revolved, while at nearly $600 a month, amember received just about unlimited private access to theexpert. Likewise, the program with the lowest fee acceptedanyone who applied, while the higher fees requiredapplication, with no guarantee of acceptance. Features in the online mentorship programs I looked atincluded some or all of these:* Topical teleclasses or conference calls* Member newsletter* Member-only articles* Feedback and advice from the designated expert* Discounts on products and services* Free books, tapes or reports* Free in-person meetings* Group discussion board You should do this research yourself to see who has aprogram similar to yours, what they charge and what theyoffer. Join a couple of mentorship programs and learn fromwhat you like and don’t like in what they do. When you decide to go ahead, you can either buy a readymadesoftware program for running such an online program orcreate your own web site. Membergate (www.membergate.com)is the best and most reliable such tool, with a one-timelicensing fee of $3,500 and up. Since my husband is aprogrammer, we built our own site with a password-protectedarea and an online application for prospective members tofill out. However much or little you decide to charge, it’s essentialfor members to feel they’re getting their money’s worth, and that means that you must offer quite a lot ofmember-only content, with fresh material added often. Inot only quit one mentorship site but also asked for mymoney back because it didn’t live up to the promise oflistings that were updated daily and the site ownerappeared to be nowhere in evidence. Be flexible in what you’re willing to offer members. Istarted off thinking that a member-only discussion boardwas the best way for members to get feedback and advicefrom me, but I learned that while some members loved that, others preferred the exchange of ideas in a live conferencecall. So I added those to my program. Because I thoroughly researched and planned beforelaunching my online mentorship program and have remaineddetermined to have members think they’re getting anunbelievable deal, MarketingforMore.com got off to asuccessful start and has continued to grow. Good luckcashing in on your expertise! Marcia Yudkin is the author of 6 Steps to Free Publicity and 10 other books. Signs Of Depression

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

By Chas Oliver Dealing with emotional disorders is typically best left to mental health professionals; but there are times when the most common of emotional disorders — depression — may work its way into our lives, whether we want it to or not. Everyone feels down or discouraged at times: disappointment and pain are unfortunate realities of human existence. But depression is something more than a typical, temporary poor mood: depression is a legitimate medical condition that often requires intervention to successfully treat, and when left untreated depression can sometimes even be fatal in the form of death by suicide. Clearly, depression is something to be taken seriously. So when should we become concerned about our own emotional outlook, or the emotional outlook of someone we care about? Like most other medical conditions, depression leaves a trail of symptoms. The more common symptoms of depression include feeling chronically fatigued; unusual sleep patterns, with either more or less sleep taking place; weight loss or weight gain; loss of interest in activities that used to be part of ones regular routine; and irritability. The problem with these symptoms is they could be indicative of a number of different medical conditions, or may not indicate any medical condition at all. You wouldnt necessarily suggest someone whos gained a few pounds seek treatment for depression, for instance. Another symptom of depression, one that may be more conclusive than the others, is persistent physical symptoms that dont respond to treatment: a chronic headache perhaps, or a chronic backache or stomachache; or maybe even a general complaint of not feeling well. Obviously youd want to have these symptoms medically checked out before concluding theyre the result of depression; but depressed, and anxious, people often do complain of physical ailments. If no medical cause can be established for physical symptoms, and the symptoms do not respond to medical treatment, its reasonable to consider a mood disorder as the possible source of the problem. The key to diagnosing a medical condition is sometimes the presence of a cluster of symptoms, rather than observing a symptom here, or observing a symptom there. If a person is sleeping more than usual, has noticeably gained weight, is irritable, and is persistently complaining about their physical health, something is the matter. The person displaying these symptoms should be medically evaluated for the presence of disease — but if they get back a clean bill of health, then the possibility of depression should be seriously considered. I Love You, I Hate You But Don’t Go: Understanding Borderline Personality Disorder

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

By Lois Galloway It amazes me that 6-10 million Americans have been diagnosed with this isolating disorder. Whats amazing about this is that not much is written about BPD much less talked about. Almost like there is a stigma attached to the very name. The name Borderline Personality Disorder originated in 1938 by Adolph Stern. He was describing a group of patients that didnt quite fit an existing diagnosis; patients that were classified as past the neurotic stage but not quite psychotic. However these days this disorder is seen in a different way but the name BPD has stuck. BPD is relatively common, affecting 10-14% of the general population. Women commonly suffer from depression more often than men and the frequency of BPD in women is two to three times greater than men. Nearly 20% of psychiatric hospitalizations stem from BPD. While people that suffer with depression or bipolar disorder typically endure the same mood for several weeks at a time, a person with BPD can experience depression and anxiety that may last only an hour or at most, a day. Symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder Impulsive aggression Self injury Strong feelings of anxiety Feelings of low self worth Drug or alcohol abuse Impulsive behaviors Feelings of being misunderstood Experience unstable relationships Sometimes people suffering from BPD view themselves essentially as bad people or unworthy. This mood instability and poor self-image can bring on bouts of anger, eating disorders, panic attacks and anxiety. Very intense emotional turmoil appears to be a way of life for those afflicted by it. However, often times a person with BPD can present as a bright, intelligent individual with a warm, friendly nature. They can maintain this appearance for a number of years until their defense mechanism breaks down, usually because of a very stressful situation like a relationship breakup or death of a loved one. They may feel isolated and empty which may result in frantic efforts to avoid being alone. People with BPD often formulate highly unstable relationship patterns. While their relationships with family and friends can be very intense their attitude can change dramatically and suddenly from great admiration and love to profound anger and distaste. Often times they will form an immediate attachment to another person but when even a slight conflict or separation occurs they shift suddenly to the other extreme and accuse the other person of not really caring about them at all. They are highly sensitive to any sign (real or imagined) of rejection and react quickly with anger and distress when their expectations are not met. Over the years treatments for BPD have improved with group and individual psychotherapy at least partially effective for a great number of patients. Talking about present challenges and past experiences with an empathetic and accepting therapist on a consistent and regular basis has proven effective. Patients are encouraged to talk about their feelings rather than expel them in their usual self-defeating manner. Sometimes medications such as antidepressants or lithium carbonate are helpful in treatment of BPD and brief hospitalization may be necessary during acutely stressful episodes or if self-destructive behavior threatens to erupt. The goals of ongoing therapy and/or treatments would be to increase an individuals tolerance of anxiety as well as increase self awareness and build more stability into relationships. With increased self awareness and introspection, it is hoped that individuals with BPD will be able to change rigid patterns of behavior set earlier in life which in turn will help prevent these patterns from repeating themselves in future generations. Like it or Not, Finance Matters, a Lot

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

By Mika Hamilton Finance. We hear that word thrown around quite a bit and used in phrases like in the world of high finance or financing options are available for those who qualify, but what does it really mean? It doesnt take an E.F. Hutton or J. Paul Getty to understand that the term finance and variations like financial, financing, financier, and such are related to monetary matters. You may be surprised, however, just how many people have no real idea what is meant by finance. In fact, its safe to say that much of America has a better fix on the goings on inside the Big Brother house than they do on what happens at the Federal Reserve! This is sad, but true. The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language offers four definitions for the word finance. They are: 1. The science of the management of money and other assets. 2. The management of money, banking, investments, and credit. 3. Finances Monetary resources; funds, especially those of a government or corporate body. 4. The supplying of funds or capital. The third and fourth definitions are not what were dealing with here as they indicate the funds and capital belonging to a person, persons, or business entity (My finances are in total disarray!) and the act of lending money (I couldnt buy the new SUV because I didnt qualify for the financing.). The first and second definitions, however, are right on the, um, money. This is what theyre talking about on CNN Financial. This is what concerns economists and financial analysts. This is what should concern you. The world of finance in the United States revolves around several things. These include the stock market because the prices at which stocks trade are a direct result in most cases of how well the companies are doing, the actions of the Federal Reserve which sets interest rates and is responsible for the coining of money, and the value of the American dollar as compared to other national currencies. Many people think that, unless they have significant investments and considerable assets, financial matters like these do not concern them. Nothing could be further from the truth. The unfortunate fact is that, while the wealthy are more immediately concerned with finance, the common people are usually the most affected when extreme changes in the financial world happen. The stock market crash of 1929 is a prime example of how drastically financial upheavals can effect everyone in the country. Sunday, November 18th, 2007

By Rebecca Johnson If you are planning a wedding in Las Vegas, you may not be aware of all the opportunities that you have available to you. Here are ten interesting Las Vegas wedding options. Although they may not be as famous as the many wedding chapels Las Vegas has, they will certainly leave the same lasting impression. 1. Helicopter Weddings - Many Las Vegas wedding chapels, as well as Papillon Helicopter Tours, offer helicopter weddings. The ceremony can take place as you fly above the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip or you have the option of flying to the Grand Canyon and saying your nuptials there. 2. Red Rock Canyon - Many wedding locations offer wedding packages at this canyon location. Red Rock Canyon is located just west of Las Vegas and offers stunning scenery making it an ideal site for wedding ceremonies. 3. Yacht Weddings - You can have your wedding on a 60 foot private yacht as it floats around on beautiful Lake Las Vegas. 4. Gondola Weddings - Weddings can also take place on a gondola at Lake Las Vegas. The Venetian offers gondola weddings as well. They take place on a canal at the Venice themed hotel. 5. Mount Charleston - Mount Charleston is located less than an hour from the Las Vegas Strip. It is a popular Las Vegas getaway, especially in the summer months when temperatures are usually thirty degrees cooler than in the Valley. The hotel and lodge up on the mountain both offer wedding packages. 6. Lake Mead Weddings - You can get married on a two level Mississippi style paddlewheel boat while it floats around on this famous man made lake. 7. Stratosphere Roller Coaster - If you are really adventurous, say I do on this roller coaster which is located near the top of an 1100 foot tower. 8. Bonnie Springs Old Nevada - This replica of an 1880s Old West mining town is located just west of Las Vegas, in the Red Rock Canyon area. The town includes a western style chapel where ceremonies can be performed. BBQ dinners are available for wedding receptions. 9. The famous Las Vegas sign - A few Las Vegas chapels can arrange a wedding ceremony at this famous Las Vegas landmark. 10. Hot Air Balloon Weddings - What could be more cool than becoming husband and wife as you soar above the earth in a hot air balloon? So if you want to get married in Las Vegas, know that you are not limited to having a ceremony in a wedding chapel. Las Vegas wedding locations provide plenty of opportunities to let your imagination run wild when planning your big day. Finding A Healthy Way To Lose Weight

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

By Jennifer Carlson The vast majority of overweight and obese people wish they werent. Most try diet after diet and meal plan after meal plan in an attempt to lose their excess weight. However, not all diets are healthy and able to be sustained over the long term. Ideally, all dieters should find a healthy way to lose weight, that wont compromise their long term health for some short term (and usually temporary) results. In any eating plan that advocates a healthy way to lose weight, there has to be a good variety of high quality foods. There also has to be enough protein, carbohydrates and fats for healthy bodily function, as well as all the necessary vitamins and minerals the body needs to function at its best. Many people foolishly believe that shakes and powders, with added vitamins and minerals provide the answer, but theyre wrong. Although you may be getting the minimum requirement for nutrients with these meal replacement drinks or bars, theyre definitely not a long term answer to weight loss. For starters, they dont help teach proper eating habits (as the last thing anyone wants is to maintain this sort of restrictive dietary regimen for the rest of their lives). Proper eating habits involves not only eating healthily in order to lose weight, but in order to remain healthy for a lifetime. It involves food selection and preparation practices, it involves knowing how much to eat at any time, and recognizing the difference between real hunger and cravings. For many years, weight loss eluded me. At my worst I was about fifty pounds over my ideal weight, and I tried many, many things to lose it! I managed to successfully regain a healthy weight at one point by relying on a combination of diet drinks and prescription diet pills. Once I stopped taking the pills (which were expensive and werent recommended for long term consumption) the weight gradually crept back on. I then tried diet drinks and bars alone, but found myself craving other foods, and breaking my diet. Inevitably, I managed to reach a higher weight than ever before! I then experimented with several healthy ways to lose weight, but was often bored by the foods I selected, and craved sugars and fats. Then I discovered The Mediterranean Diet. This book provided me with a complete plan for losing weight, as well as several delicious recipes. The main reason this diet worked for me, I think, is because I love Mediterranean food, and thus could actually stick to this eating plan without feeling I was missing out on something. Although some people report very fast weight loss while following this plan, my weight loss was more gradual. I lost about 4 pounds in my first week, and for the next few weeks consistently lost around 1 to 2 pounds a week. After losing the majority of my excess pounds, my weight loss dropped to half a pound a week, sometimes less, but eventually I reached my goal weight, which I have been able to maintain with ease ever since. If you are looking for a healthy way to lose weight, that will not only help you drop those excess pounds (no matter how many extra you have), then this is a diet thats tasty and easy to stick to, and which youll be able to follow for the rest of your life. Its not some “drop 20 pounds in two weeks” fad diet, either, so youre unlikely to suffer any ill effects from following it. Best of all, youll no longer need to spend a fortune on useless pills, powders and bars. Jennifer Carlson spent many of her adult years overweight, until she discovered The Mediterranean Diet and she also maintains the website Super Diet Success. Dealing With The Unknown In Being In A Relationship

Friday, November 16th, 2007

By Stanley Popovich It can be tough for people in a relationship to deal with the fear of the unknown. Being in a relationship can lead to many possibilities. As a result, here is a list of techniques and suggestions on how to manage this fear of dealing with the unknown while in a relationship. The first step is to learn to take it one day at a time. Instead of worrying about how you will get through the rest of the week or coming month, try to focus on today. Each day can provide us with different opportunities to learn new things and that includes learning how to deal with your problems. When the time comes, hopefully you will have learned the skills to deal with your situation. Another thing to remember is that no one can predict the future with 100 Percent certainty. Even if the thing that you feared does happen there are circumstances and factors that you cant predict which can be used to your advantage. For instance, lets say at your place of work that you miss the deadline for a project you have been working on for the last few months. Everything you feared is coming true. Suddenly, your boss comes to your office and tells you that the deadline is extended and that he forgot to tell you the day before. This unknown factor changes everything. Remember: we may be ninety-nine percent correct in predicting the future, but all it takes is for that one percent to make a world of difference. Sometimes what we fear may happen can be over exaggerated. A lot of times, our worrying can make the problem even worse. For those of you who believe in God, prayer can be very effective. In the end, we have to leave it in the hands of God. If God wants something to happen to us, it will happen regardless. All the worrying in the world will not change anything. All you can do is to do your best each day, hope for the best, and when something does happen, take it in stride by using the help of God. God will help us through our problems if we ask him. As a Layman, I realize it is not easy to deal with the fear of the unknown, however sometimes the fear can be worse than the situation. If you have trouble managing your anxiety of the future, then talking to a counselor or clergyman can be of great help. There are ways to help manage your fear and all it takes is some effort to find those answers. Stan Popovich is the author of “A Layman’s Guide to Managing Fear” an easy to read book that presents a overview of techniques that are effective in managing persistent fears and anxieties.
